Rev. Dawn-Marie Singleton is a native of Northern Virginia. She grew up in Alexandria and was a graduate of Hayfield High School in Fairfax County. Dawn-Marie received her Bachelor’s degree from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson, NC. she earned her Master of Divinity degree from Duke University.
Dawn-Marie is an ordained elder in the Virginia Annual Conference. She has always had a heart for the least, the last and the lost. Her personal theology of ministry is to
make God’s love known to all people, to be an encourager, and to build up the kingdom of God wherever she is. Her passion is to make bold and courageous disciples that are willing to go and do God’s will in the world.
During her 32 years of ministry, she has served as a youth director (Trinity UMC, Alexandria), as an Associate Pastor (Aldersgate UMC, Chesapeake) and as the lead
pastor. (Kernstown UMC, outside of Winchester, Keezletown UMC, outside of Harrisonburg, Oakton UMC, Oakton, and Cherrydale UMC, Arlington.)
Rev. Dawn-Marie has a daughter, Sarah-Grace, whom she adopted from Russia when Sarah-Grace was two. Sarah-Grace graduated from Yorktown High School Arlington in 2024. Sarah-Grace and her boyfriend Nik are the proud parents of Charles Colton, aka Charlie.
Rev. Dawn-Marie enjoys spending time with family (especially her new grandson). Her immediate family all live fairly close so you may also see her mom, Martha; her sister, Barbara; her brother-in-law, Wayne; her nephew, Ryan and her brother Chas at church events.
Rev. Dawn-Marie enjoys scrapbooking, writing, reading and fishing. She loves to be out in nature as she is constantly in awe of God’s creation. She also enjoys hanging out at home with her four cats: Sparkles, Tiny Dancer, Hannah and Sugar.
