Last week, Pastor Betsy preached on the importance of sharing God’s love in tangible ways with those around us. We started our Operation Baby Shower effort two weeks ago, and we are so happy at how our faith community has stepped up to meet needs and show love to our new Afghan neighbors. We are grateful for your love and support.

On Friday the 17th, our Inova Fairfax contact who is a social worker in the maternity ward picked up the first tranche of our donations. She had a car full! Check out some of the pictures from this mission effort below.

  • Three like new infant car seats
  • A stroller
  • A pack n’ play
  • Beautifully crocheted blankets and hats contributed by Arcola UMC
  • Onesies, outfits, receiving blankets, and little washcloths
  • Diapers and wipes

Our collection continues, so please keep the new and very gently used baby items coming. As we head into the colder months, blankets and clothing items with long sleeves and pants are especially appreciated.

Pastor Betsy placed some of the donations at the front of the church last Sunday.
Subset of our first donations. Next time we will capture more of the cute baby outfits!
Handmade gifts are so special. These beautiful crocheted blankets and hats will keep the babies warm and warm their parents’ hearts.
